Understanding the Sender Settings

TextMagic is suitable for global text messaging.

Mobile operators across the world want to protect their customers from unwanted text communications, so numerous sender settings restrictions and regulations exist. TextMagic helps you achieve the best possible SMS delivery rate and two-way SMS service (where possible) by using recommended sender settings.

Before you send an SMS you can choose the number recipients will see on their phones when they get a text from you.

This can be edited anytime from the Sender settings page.

To edit your sender settings:

  1. Select Services and then Sender settings from the main menu.
  2. Click Edit next to the country you want to change.
  3. Choose the number or Sender ID.
Please note: Alphanumeric Sender ID is not supported in the USA, Canada, Puerto Rico and several other locations.

Dedicated virtual numbers

TextMagic offers dedicated numbers in more than 30 countries. Each dedicated number can be used by only one account at a time. The dedicated number cannot be shared between sub-accounts. The numbers prices can be found on the Pricing page.

A dedicated number is an essential component for two-way messaging. You can send and receive messages to or from anyone (except for online services verification messages). All incoming messages will be displayed in SMS Chat and Received history page.

Please note: TextMagic numbers will NOT work for SMS verification or login purposes (bank accounts, social media accounts etc.).

You can buy a dedicated number subscription from the Web app Buy number page.

    Shared reply numbers

All shared numbers belong to TextMagic. They can be used free by any TextMagic customer. All replies will be displayed in SMS Chat and your email (if this setting is enabled). Although the number is shared, the messages you receive will only be visible on your account.

Please note: Shared reply numbers can only receive replies from people you have already texted.

      Your own mobile number

Your recipient will see your own mobile number as the sender and all replies will go to your personal mobile phone, because TextMagic does not have control over it.

To use this option you will first need to verify your number:

      1. Add and verify your mobile number on the Account settings page
      2. Select Services and then Sender Settings from the main menu.
      3. Set your number as your default sender option for the desired country.
