How to review sent and received text message data

It’s easy to view sent and received messages on your SMS history page.

To check sent and received SMS:

  1. Go to SMS history.
  2. Select the account you want to view. SMS history
  3. Review the Sent SMS tab.
  4. Review the Received SMS tab. Sent and Received SMS

On the right-hand side of both pages you will see:

  • A date filter - use this to see messages that were sent during a specific time frame.
  • A button that allows you to export your data to a CSV file.

To check sent SMS details:

  1. Go to the Sent SMS tab.
  2. Click on a text message.
    Click on SMS

Use message ID if you need assistance regarding a particular SMS.

When you are looking at data for sent SMS there are several different delivery statuses:

  • Delivered – the message has been sent and the recipient’s network has confirmed delivery.
  • Accepted – the message has been sent but delivery has not been confirmed, for example because the recipient’s phone is switched off. Delivery notification may take up to 12 hours.
  • Failed – the message has been sent but the recipient’s network is unable to deliver it. For example, because the recipient has cancelled their mobile contract.
  • Rejected – the SMS has been refused, either by the recipient’s network or TextMagic. For example, because the recipient has unsubscribed from your marketing messages.

Please note, delivery statuses get updated once recipients’ mobile network provide TextMagic with updates.

If you use API, you can request SMS delivery notification via the Receive command or Callback URL - the API will respond with a single letter. Read more about this here.

To check received SMS details:

  1. Go to the Received SMS tab.
  2. Click on a text message.

On this page you can see the full list of your received messages, including inbound SMS and replies to previously sent texts.
