Today, I’ll show you how to build self driving customer journeys that combine SMS and email in one easy to use platform. Your message volume simply depends on your plan balance. You can build workflows to map out a complete customer journey visually using the drag and drop editor. No coding skills needed. To launch automated workflows quickly, you can use one of the seventeen pre built templates proven to convert including the welcome series for new customers, lead nurturing sequences, cart recovery for forgotten items, and re engagement campaigns for inactive users.

Choose the template you need by clicking view template and then clicking use template to instantly map the entire sequence onto your canvas. You maintain total control over these pre built workflows. First, click any existing block to adjust its settings. For example, you can click the schedule block to modify the active hours or click the message block to rewrite the copy and personalize the text.

Once your existing blocks are set, can easily expand the workflow. Simply click the plus button on the canvas to add entirely new steps such as inserting a time delay before your next message goes out. This lets you systematically build and customize the flow to fit your exact goals. Building a custom workflow follows the same simple logic.

Choose a trigger, add actions, and set conditions. Click create a new automation to start. Every workflow starts with a trigger. A trigger defines exactly how and when a contact enters your flow, whether that happens from an inbound SMS or email, a contact being tagged or joining a list.

You can also manually select contacts and push them into the flow and build follow-up sequences based on their reply actions.

Flow start automatically from events, dates, or actions. Select tag is added and add an existing TextMagic contact tag or create a new one like VIP. The automation begins the moment a contact receives this tag. Alternatively, you can manually select bulk contacts and push them directly into a flow.

Use this to launch a mass campaign right from the canvas and automatically trigger tailored follow-up sequences based on exactly how people reply to your initial message. Control your sending schedule by clicking the top icon. For example, you can limit messages strictly to your business hours and disable weekend deliveries. The system respects customer time zones automatically preventing late night interruptions.

Once triggered, actions dictate what the flow does. You can send messages, update contact fields, or even assign tasks to your team. We’ll start by adding a send email action. Then click on add content to compose and edit your email.

You can pull existing copy from your saved templates or previously sent emails or you can generate your email template with AI to speed up your editing process. Speed up your workflow and the quality of your emails by adding dynamic fields to every conversation. Maintain compliance by automatically adding the unsubscribe link to your email. Additionally, you can use the dynamic first name field to make bulk communication feel more personalized.

Finally, rules control the logic of your workflow. They allow the system to branch out paths, add time delays, or respond to customer interactions. Add conditional logic to branch the flow based on customer behavior. Select wait until event happens and then instruct the system to wait up to seven days for the customer to open the email you just sent.

If the customer doesn’t open the email, they follow the no path. Add a send SMS alert here to reach them directly on their phone. If they open the email, use a percentage split rule under the yes path to AB test your next offer routing fifty percent of users to path a and fifty percent to path b. You can combine SMS and email in a single flow.

Send an email first and automatically follow-up with an SMS if the customer doesn’t open it. This multichannel approach reaches your customers where they engage best. Track workflow performance in the flow section. The visual builder displays the exact number and percentage of contacts moving through each step making it easy to monitor path conversions.

Use the logs tab to audit individual actions. This table provides a complete history of executed steps confirming exactly when the system processed an action for a specific contact. Click any entry to view a contact’s timeline. You can verify that a specific step was successfully completed and see if the user is currently waiting in a time delay.

Update email and SMS messaging inside an active workflow at any time. If you need to change the structural logic or rules, simply duplicate the flow, apply your new setup, and pause the original version.
